a. Demonstrative pronouns
It all comes down to one question: is it a de-word or a het-word?4

Keep in mind: every plural is a de-word.
b. The imperative
The imperative is just the bare [stem] of the verb, placed at the start of the sentence.

| Neem de afslag | Take the exit |
| Eet smakelijk | Enjoy your meal |

4. The last letter of the article matches the last letter of its demonstrative — de→deze/die, het→dit/dat.
