a. Hebben — to have

b. Adjectives

  1. After a verb, the adjective keeps its base form.
  2. Before the noun, an -e is added:
    • always with de- and het-words that have the;
    • with een: add -e for a de-word, but add nothing for a het-word.

c. Comparatives & superlatives

Add -er or -st. A few comparatives are irregular. The superlative always takes het: het mooist, het best.
